Each year we add titles to our collection of documentary and feature films from Asia and about Asia. Your suggestions and critical remarks are welcomed. There are many sources of video materials these days, including the AEMS (Asian Educational Media Service (http://www.aems.uiuc.edu/index.las)), local school district media libraries, and the Michigan Humanities Council (http://www.michiganhumanities.org/). A great source for reviews and career details of directors, actors and other production staff is the internet movie database (http://imdb.com).
Students at MSU may borrow at most two films at a time for maximum of three days by showing their student ID and completing the “Request Form for Student (PDF)* (http://www.asianstudies.msu.edu/vidrequest.pdf).” Students outside of MSU (within Michigan) may view any of the films on MSU campus by contacting Asian Studies Center in advance to arrange a viewing, and showing a valid picture ID on the day of viewing.
Educators in the state of Michigan may freely make use of our feature film & documentary film collection, updated periodically.(We regret that we cannot circulate materials outside the state of Michigan.)
